With Dr David Norman, Dr Nora Siklodi, and Dr Dafydd Townley (University of Portsmouth), I am a Co-Editor of Political Studies Review, a flagship journal for the Political Studies Association (PSA). The PSA is the leading association for the study of politics in the UK. In my role, I lead on the coordination of special issues and Symposia and New Ideas sections and liase with specialist groups of the PSA.
One of our primary goals in leading the journal is to offer more publication opportunities to the PSA's Specialist Groups within the association's portfolio of journals.
The journal has two themed publication formats that will appeal to all specialist groups, regardless of their size or the events you may be organising. We intend to accept proposals for both formats on a rolling basis.
Symposia and New Ideas section: PSR offers a forum for publishing results from symposia. These can be early versions of what may become more extensive articles, exploring and fleshing out new ideas and directions for study. Papers in the Symposia and New Ideas section are limited to 3000 words, including all notes and references.
A Symposia and New Ideas section needs to have a minimum of three papers and an introduction to the section written by the Guest Editors.
Guidance on the proposal process is available here.
More detailed information for Guest Editors is available here.
If you are interested in submitting a proposal for a special issue or a new ideas section, please email me.
I am happy to discuss ideas at any stage. If you have an event planned and think it could work as a special issue or Symposia New Ideas section, please get in touch.
